Decarbonization 101
Dustin Rehkamp - Market Sector Leader - Healthcare, LEO A DALY
As healthcare market sector leader, Dustin directs a multi-disciplinary team to create successful and effective solutions for health care clients. His experience spans various sectors with complex needs, from healthcare to recreation and corporate campuses.
Dustin has 20 years of experience working with influential healthcare organizations and is skilled at healthcare campus planning and development, project management and client relations. His leadership and technical prowess enhance each project.
Dustin is a co-chair of the MN AIA Government Affairs committee. He is the vice-chair of the ASHE Health Care Decarbonization Task Force. He is on the TCHEA executive committee, WHEA Code Committee, WHEA Sustainability Committee and part of the ASHE Equity and Diversity task force. He has a passion for mentoring the next generation and has been an ACE mentor since 2013.
Abstract
To give an introduction to decarbonation including terminology, the three scopes, GHG inventory, ESG and where to begin with decarbonization. the presentation will empower attendees on how to begin to having discussions with senior leaderships, staff, and vendors as they begin to navigate the many layers that encompass decarbonations.

Abstract
This presentation will focus on two areas: introducing the audience to the Facilities Guidelines Institute publications, website and organization. Overall document consensus approaches and revision strategy will be shared with the group. Secondly, a focus will turn to the significant FGI chapters on rural health requirements and the Emergency Conditions research paper (2020) as a resource for participants. Learning Objectives: 1. Familiarize participants with the organization of the documents and publications. 2. Sharing the revision strategy, sequence, and consensus approach to the FGI process. 3. Understanding and explaining the approach to the use of the Guidelines in MN given current legislation. 4. Review Guidelines section on rural health requirements including the CAH and Small Hospital Chapter, Freestanding ER/Mobile Unit chapters, Dental Chapter and the Emergency Conditions 202 report.

Familiar with restoration, she has now fully stepped into the world of all things exterior façade, masonry, concrete, waterproofing, traffic coating, and parking structure repair as the Business Development and Marketing Manager with Restoration Systems Inc.

First impressions are everything and that sentiment is no different when it comes to exterior building façade. This session identifies common issues to look for when assessing your building's exterior, why those issues may be present, a general overview of what type of repairs to expect when consulting with a professional, and why consistent maintenance is vital to your asset both functionally and cosmetically.

A New Assisted Living Environment - What to expect during an assisted living survey for conversion facilities

Michael Mireau is one of Minnesota's top state-licensed physical environment subject matter experts. He was responsible for creating the assisted living physical environment program and the Minnesota Department of Health team that oversees plan reviews, inspections, and surveys. He has been a licensed architect in Minnesota since 2013 and was the first-ever architect hired by the Minnesota Department of Health. He is passionate about ensuring Minnesota care providers successfully develop and maintain physical environments that enable health, safety, and well-being for those they serve.

I have been in the Life Safety industry for 16 years, and am a Certified Healthcare Operations Professional - Advanced; Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker; Principal Voting Member on NFPA 101, 5000, 80, and 105 Committees.
I have presented at NCHEA, VSHE, and other local ASHE conferences, and various Life Safety conferences around the United States.
We currently partner with over 2000 facilities that are accredited by The Joint Commission, DNV, CARF, and other accrediting organizations.
Abstract
Creating partnerships with your Life Safety vendor is instrumental in protecting lives and property. Applicable NFPA Inspections performed at accredited healthcare facilities are different than other industries, as well as the services and procedures. Communication is paramount, and this presentation will help the audience create a plan of action with their Life Safety vendor in an environment where we defend in place while protecting lives, and also meeting accreditation requirements.
