                   Safety Consultant Principal, MN DLI Workplace Safety Consultation

Bio:  Michelle Smith is a Safety Consultant Principal with Workplace Safety Consultation.  She has spent the past thirteen years of her 20+ year safety career helping employers in general industry and construction become OSHA compliant and develop better safety and health programs within their organizations.  Workplace Safety Consultation is a division of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry that offers free services to Minnesota employers and Michelle works with employers across the southern Minnesota.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to identify the types of industrial trucks that fall under the standard 1910.178.
2. Participants will gain knowledge in the training requirements for an employee to be certified to operate an industrial truck.
3. Participants will be able to identify proper truck operations, maintenance and inspection requirements.
4. Participants will learn about MN Rule 5205.116 requirements as it relates to propane fueled lift truck operations and carbon monoxide / tail pipe emissions.
